2/17/2021 1 Comment Week 1: IntroductionIn this first blog post, I decided it was smart to give an overview of my project and give a brief outline of what I plan on doing throughout the project. The Overview:For my English class, I need to complete a Genius Hour Project by spending 12 weeks focusing on a project with an end goal in mind. Throughout the project, I will be giving weekly updates about my progress and experiences. The purpose of a genius hour project is to get a student involved in something that interests them to explore different topics and hopefully better themselves through the project. With this purpose in mind, I picked a project that interests me and that will hopefully help improve myself. My project is to become vegetarian and explore healthier eating habits. The Plan:My plan involves me easing into becoming a vegetarian. So I decided that I would allow a certain amount of days a week to eat meat. Throughout the project, I will decrease the number of days I eat meat. I will also cook a meal each week. Hopefully, this will help me gather ideas of different meals that I could incorporate into my every-week meal plan. Each week I will post the recipe for the meal I cooked so if anyone is interested they can attempt to cook the meal for themselves. Week 1 Progress:During my first week of this project, I decided to focus on setting up my website and getting a solid game plan for the rest of the project. In my original outline, I wanted to make a meal every week. That wasn't able to happen this week because I was trying to get the next 11 weeks planned. Even though I didn't cook a specific meal, I noticed that I am already making more conscious choices about what I'm eating. This week I noticed that the convenience of certain foods has an impact on the choices I make. It's a lot easier to forget about eating healthy when all you want is something convenient.
